Over the last 25-30 years, a contemporary music theater genre has established itself in its own right outside of the realm of the two national opera organization. Are producers and operators active in the field missing important opportunities when structures and coordination of artistic development, innovation and production seems lacking? How would we be able to create better opportunities through co-production and shared resources for artistic development across cross-disciplinary genres? And how do these genres get easier access to venues and performance opportunities?
This seminar focuses on potentials and challenges currently conditioning the field, and seeks to uncover future possible improvements in a conversation between producers, artists, and organizations currently working with contemporary music and performing arts.
Panel to be announced soon.
